Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.
Mental Health Counselor III's serve as a first line supervisor for professional clinicians on a case management team or treatment team OR independently oversee and implement the activities of a major program area such as a satellite clinic. The Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Mental Health Counselor 3 to be located in Las Vegas. The incumbent will serve in the regional program coordinator position and is the first line supervisor to the Wraparound in Nevada Supervisors and Lead Care Coordinators. This position is responsible for the daily management of care coordination activities. Supervisory duties include assigning and reviewing work, training, evaluating performance, counseling and disciplining staff as appropriate. The position also requires reviewing youth charts, providing clinical consultation to Child and Family Teams, responding to urgent crisis situations with youth and/or families, and monitoring crisis plans and the planning process. The incumbent will be responsible for program management to include program oversight and implementation of program efforts. The incumbent will be responsible for clinical assessments, SED Determinations and referrals for clinical services. The Mental Health Counselor 3 should have a comprehensive understanding of the Tiered Care Coordination models to include High-Fidelity Wraparound and FOCUS.
This is a full-time position that will be located in Las Vegas. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field and three years of post-master's degree professional mental health counseling experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above. |

Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
