Insurance Examiners perform professional work in verification and analysis of the financial condition/solvency
and market conduct examination of providers of insurance and related products in the State.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Department of Business & Industry is recruiting for an Insurance Examiner I. This position is in the Market Regulation section of the Nevada Division of Insurance in Carson City. This section is responsible for analyzing market data for consideration of regulatory action. The regulatory authority includes any conduct subject to the provisions of Title 57 of Nevada Revised Statutes; from insurance companies down to individual producers. Duties performed include coordination with the Department of Taxation, participation in examinations of insurers, and review and analysis of insurer filings. The incumbent in this position will become proficient in the tools used by the Division and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and respond to ad hoc requests of supervisor, as needed. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration, finance or related field, and three years of professional experience in accounting or auditing; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
