Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within the Construction Division, in Las Vegas. The position is responsible for the scheduling and performance of mid-point audits and final audits of contract files for compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) to ensure Federal Funding requirements are met as part of the construction contract closeout process. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance of the existing documentation manual as well as related desk manuals. Incumbent will represent the Construction Administration Section of the Construction Division as the primary contact for construction crews in District I by providing assistance and guidance with contract documentation, electronic documentation software, and related manuals. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employees in this class who are not registered professional engineers may not represent themselves as such to other persons or entities.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
