Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.
This opening is for a Social Services Program Specialist I within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Program Integrity Provider Enrollment unit, in Carson City NV.
Under direction from a Social Services Program Specialist III, this position assists Nevada Medicaid's Fiscal Agent with the approval or denial of Provider Enrollment applications, change of ownership, provisional enrollment and changes. The incumbent also researches Federal and State regulations to ensure program integrity and oversees the Fingerprint-based Criminal Background Check (FCBC), and site visit process, which may include conducting site visits when necessary. This position will receive, review and assist in the resolution of provider issues/complaints pertaining to enrollment. The incumbent must be able to interpret program requirements and procedures and have the ability to communicate this information in a professional manner both verbally and/or in written correspondence to chiefs, administrators, fiscal agent, providers and/or sister agencies. The incumbent must maintain current desk processes and procedures, prepare statistical reports, and conduct outreach trainings and presentations when necessary.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and two years of paraprofessional experience which included providing social services, medical assistance programs services, or health care services to the public and required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR two years of experience as a Family Services Specialist II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
