The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents will manage projects of varying size, scope, and impact to agency operations to include serving as the project leader; planning, organizing, and directing project activities; timeline development; critical path tracking; and coordination with vendors and other work units within and outside the organization as assigned. The incumbent will be suject to a criminal history check upon hire.
This position will be working within the Public Employees Benefit Program (PEBP) in Carson City. This position will be the team lead responsible for helpdesk & desktop support, maintaining servers as well as infrastructure. The incumbent will monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of PEBP supported computer platforms and systems to the Chief Information Officer. This position also is the team lead, manages deadlines and recommends improved methods of operations; provides answers to technical and procedure questions. Will lead technical staff in telepresence operations, IT security, design of cloud solutions, networks, storage or other information systems. Experience in the some of the following areas is desired: O365, SharePoint Online, Active Directory, DNS, Webservers, VMWare, SAN Systems, Backups or Server Hardware is preferred. Ability to be available for callback, flexible/rotating shifts, evenings and weekends will be required. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analyst and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Applicants must be willing to work standby and carry the standby cellular phone for evening and weekend system troubleshooting.
