Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
This position is located within the Foster Care Licensing Unit of the Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) in Carson City.
Incumbent conducts assessments of potential foster/adoptive parents for foster care licensure in the rural areas of Nevada utilizing a home study model; assures that applicants and licensee(s) are in compliance with policy, State statute, and regulations; conducts ongoing recruitment throughout the rural areas of Nevada for potential foster/adoptive families; provides foster/adoptive parents with pre-service and advanced training; participates and engages in community functions; conducts annual home visits and home studies for re-licensing; delivers strength-based family centered case management services to families to promote safety for the children and preservation of the foster family placements; maintains case records, case documentation, agency, special and monthly reports, and other pertinent paperwork. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work and one year of professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker I in Nevada State service. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment. |

This position typically works swing shift on a schedule other than Monday-Friday. The position also includes a variable work agreement to gain overtime after 40 hours per week. |
