The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Unemployment Insurance Representatives perform a broad variety of activities related to the timely and accurate processing and payment of unemployment insurance benefit claims.
Unemployment Insurance Representative III's supervise a team of claims examiners in an unemployment insurance operation center OR adjudicate unemployment insurance claims issues concerning eligibility to receive benefits or tax rulings for base period employers.
This Unemployment Representative 3 recruitment will work in an adjudicator capacity. The incumbent interviews claimants, employers and any third party necessary to obtain required facts and information; applies appropriate sections of State laws and regulations, administrative policies and procedures; interprets and explains laws, procedures, policies and requirements to unemployment insurance claimants and employers. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required for this position. This position may be required to work weekends or hours outside of the traditional 8:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience providing services to claimants by examining and processing claims for unemployment insurance benefits; OR one year of experience as an Unemployment Insurance Representative II in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
Up to one year of experience may be substituted by completion of 30 semester credits in social or behavioral science, business administration or related field for Unemployment Insurance Representative III.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
