The Position
Social Services Chiefs manage the overall design, analysis, development and evaluation of social services programs.
This opening is for a Social Services Chief I within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Provider Enrollment unit in Carson City NV. The selected candidate will serve as Chief of Provider Enrollment and be responsible for daily operations including oversight of all provider enrollment applications, review of background and business information for providers, and termination of providers no longer working with or disallowed from working with Nevada Medicaid. This position is responsible for making complex judgement calls based on information submitted by providers, and the needs of Nevada Medicaid recipients. Activities also include program development for the unit. This position has direct supervisory responsibility for three staff and indirect management responsibility for eight staff located in Carson City and Las Vegas.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, health or social science, public or business administration or related field and three years of professional social services experience which included serving as a consultant to professional/supervisory program personnel; coordinating program activities with officials and representatives of other agencies; interpreting and applying complex federal regulations, technical journals, and legislative studies; writing program policies, procedures, and reports; and conducting research and preparing recommendations for management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
The Examination

The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
