The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Under direction of the Nevada State Office of Energy (NSOE) Director, the Energy Outreach Coordinator
performs and coordinates the public information campaigns and marketing strategies for the energy efficiency
and energy conservation programs relating to State buildings, schools and transportation issues, and renewable
energy programs.
This position works within the Governor's Office of Energy (GOE) and is located in Carson City. The Energy Outreach Coordinator performs and coordinates the public information campaigns and marketing strategies for programs undertaken by the
GOE. This position is responsible for serving on committees and cooperative work efforts in support of program initiatives and activities as well as assisting with the tracking of relevant issues associated with various federal, state, and local agencies. Duties include educating
the public regarding programs by developing public information campaigns and marketing strategies; serving as point of contact for all public comments, input and questions regarding energy; and providing technical assistance when needed as well as coordinating, designing, scheduling and making presentations as necessary are also duties assigned to this position. Additional responsibilities include working with the Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS) in developing, maintaining, and updating the GOE website. The Energy Outreach Coordinator is also tasked with developing and dispersing of media releases, newsletters and informational material as well as developing and maintaining strong media alliances in support of the GOE mission. This position has a 25% travel requirement. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration, advertising or related field and three years of marketing, public relations or communications experience which included working with multiple stakeholder groups, managing resources, and developing marketing campaigns and strategies; OR graduation from high school and five years of marketing, public relations or communications experience which included working with multiple stakeholder groups, managing resources and developing marketing campaigns and strategies; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
