Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Rural Clinics, is recruiting for a Mental Health Counselor 3 to serve as a Clinic Director over our Lovelock and Winnemucca Clinic sites. The successful applicant will be willing to be stationed in either location. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery. Any position that requires licensure to provide clinical services must be maintained, without lapses and be in good standing with subsequent boards. These clinic have been designated as a loan repayment site through the National Health Services Corps (NHSC), a program of the Health Research and Services Administration (HRSA). As a Clinic Director, the incumbent oversees programmatic and administrative functions which includes planning and coordinating new and continuing program development activities; evaluation and assessment of program objectives; assesses resources needed to implement new and existing programs; ensures compliance with applicable laws, licensure and funding requirements; develops and/or implements performance indicators and reporting mechanisms; projects program revenues and expenditures; develops training modules and conducts training; works with state personnel and community partners to determine new or existing client needs; and supervises professional and administrative staff.
