The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
This is a full-time position located within the Assessment Unit of the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Carson District office. Incumbent is a licensed professional who functions as a front-line supervisor responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating the performance of staff; assigning and reviewing work; and initiating disciplinary action.
The selected candidate performs initial and on-the-job training of assigned staff; ensures new employees attend New Worker Academy training; assists staff in acquiring ongoing training needs to comply with required CEU licensure requirements; ensures staff maintains compliance with, and properly implements DCFS policies and procedures, statutes, regulations, and directives necessary for the safety of children and families served; ensures consistent case consultation with workers for the purpose of reviewing policy, best practice standards; and providing consultation and coaching based on SAFE criteria to guide how practice occurs using structured weekly consultation approach that targets SAFE intervention practice and decision making.
The successful candidate will perform quality case management services, diligent search efforts, construction of case plans, court reports, and identification of barriers to achieve timely permanency for all children.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social
Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work and one year of advanced journey level professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker III in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Some positions require work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
This position includes a variable work agreement to gain overtime after 40 hours per week.
