Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This announcement is for a Management Analyst 2 position within the Governor's Office of New Americans (ONA) located in Las Vegas, NV. The Senior Advisor will work closely with the Director of ONA to strategically coordinate and lead efforts to advance immigrant integration in Nevada. The Senior Advisor will research, comprehend, analyze and apply new and complex immigration regulations. The incumbent will leverage strong written and verbal skills to explain complex technical and legal analysis in a plain language format to various audiences. Primary duties include but are not limited to: researching and analyzing relevant immigration laws and regulations directly impacting state agencies and the populations they serve; drafting and coordinating the release of rapid response messaging/breaking news related to immigration law and policy across social media platforms; working collaboratively with non-profit agencies, advocacy groups and other stakeholders to build support for ONA policy issues; and integrating advocacy messaging into ONA programs and events. The Senior Advisor will demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse multi-cultural populations. This position is funded by a two year fellowship with the possibility of an additional year renewal. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures. |
