Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services Desert Regional Center (DRC) and will be located in Las Vegas, NV. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and promotes a positive work environment. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
Maintenance Repair Worker 3's perform general maintenance, repair, and construction work in and around homes, equipment, furnishings, grounds, and vehicles to assure a safe and pleasant environment that support individuals in achieving the following outcomes: Identity, Autonomy, Affiliation, Attainment, Personal Safety, Personal Rights and Personal Health and Wellness. Assuring the environment is safe and maintained helps individuals make choices as to their daily lives, to have access and use of their environment to live and participate in the community, to have a choice of services, have personal safety, and to have the best possible health.
Specific duties may include performing preventative maintenance on Agency equipment such as appliances, furnaces, cooling compressors and vehicles; general maintenance and construction; painting; plumbing; electrical work; carpentry; heating and cooling; furniture repair; roof repair; and other general duties.
This position is part of a maintenance team. The best candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player. The maintenance crew rotates on-call services. Candidates must be available nights and weekends on a rotational basis. Healthcare facility experience is helpful, but not required. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Two years of experience performing semi-skilled work in a relevant building and/or mechanical trade; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

A valid Class C Nevada driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
