The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Professional Engineer Administrators are responsible for management of an assigned district, function or division in the Department of Transportation.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located within the Materials Division, Carson City. The incumbent will administer the staff and operations of the Materials Division to include: directing the Materials Research, Roadbed Design, Pavement Analysis, Structural, Chemical, Bituminous and Geotechnical sections and the Las Vegas Lab Facility, managing a multi-million dollar budget; establishing Division policies and procedures; providing materials expertise on highway construction projects; administering NDOT and NAC personnel policies and procedures; and represents the Department in conjunction with other divisions and on National Research and National Materials committees. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and five years progressively responsible professional engineering experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity; OR one year of experience as an Administrator I, P.E. in Nevada State service; OR two years of experience as a Manager I, P.E., or Manager II, P.E. in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
Any person registered as a Professional Engineer in another state must become registered as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months following the date of appointment and as a continuing condition of employment.
Special Requirements
Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
