The Position
Family Services Specialists assist families in achieving self-sufficiency; determine eligibility for a variety of public assistance and health related programs; and/or provide coordinated employment and training services including assessment, vocational guidance, support services, and education to clients; and/or provide child support enforcement services.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is currently recruiting for a Family Services Specialist 3 position located at the Southern Professional Development Center in Las Vegas, NV. The incumbent will assist in the design of training courses/development of training curriculum, and the delivery of training to Division employees. We encourage those to apply who are passionate about training and helping others succeed. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of paraprofessional experience performing social services case processing duties which included application of rules and regulations, conducting personal interviews with applicants for the purpose of exchanging information; documenting facts pertinent to program requirements, researching financial circumstances and determining eligibility; OR one year of experience as a Family Service Specialist II in Nevada State service in eligibility or employment and training; OR one year of experience as a Family Services Specialist I in Nevada State service performing the full scope of child support enforcement duties.
Special Notes
    In accordance with NRS 293.5045, a voter registration agency shall not knowingly employ a person whose duties will include the registration of voters if they have been convicted of a felony involving theft or fraud. Most positions in this series fall under this NRS.

    Candidates must submit to background checks and fingerprinting upon appointment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.

2) Do you have work experience with eLearning publishing software such as Articulate Storyline and/or Moodle LMS systems? Please describe. This experience is preferred but not required.
