Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
The Program Officer 1 works for the Immunization program of the Bureau of Child, Family & Community Wellness in the Division of Public and Behavioral Health. This position serves as an immunization information system (IIS or NV WebIZ) trainer for the Southern Nevada region. Major responsibilities include developing, coordinating and conducting training for the new IIS users, as well as developing and distributing training and marketing materials to address training curriculum and IIS marketing needs. Additionally, this position develops and implements policies and procedures related to training needs, provides technical assistance to users as needed, represents the Nevada IIS program in Southern Nevada stakeholder meetings and/or community forums, and tracks and analyzes data regarding IIS training attendance and IIS usage

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other discipline related to the program assignment; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of para-professional program support experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service which required the application of State and/or federal laws, policy and procedures; reviewing documents prepared by others for program compliance determinations; or preparing reports which summarize financial and statistical information; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

A State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint based background check is required as a condition of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
Experience in or assisting in developing and providing formalized training is required. |
