The Position
Project Managers perform professional services in planning, coordinating, directing and managing the activities of construction projects and capital improvement programs; develop design concepts; determine cost estimates and budgets; negotiate reviews and modify contracts, agreements, architectural/engineering plans, specifications, and schedules as appropriate.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The incumbent is responsible for managing assigned statewide capital improvement projects and maintenance support projects on behalf of the Nevada Division of State Parks. The incumbent will be responsible for performing duties including planning and project development, schematic design through permitting/bid documents, construction management from advertising through construction and project closeout.
Tasks will include but are not be limited to: preparation of work programs; determination of funding sources; grant proposal writing and oversight; participation in the planning/engineering/architecture design process; survey and post processing; CAD drafting of construction documents; preparation of bid documents, specification & project estimates; permitting; developing consultant Requests for Proposals, consultant selection, consultant contract management, construction administration, including: solicitation of bids; processing project addenda; conducting bid openings; contract writing and oversight; processing billings, change orders & submittals; and, inspections of projects for compliance with approved plans, specifications and related codes; final project close-out. Providing technical assistance for field staff as requested. Applicants selected for interview will be required to complete a practical exercise in the use of AutoCAD 2018 version at the end of the interview. Applicants will be given instructions to create a drawing and will have 30 minutes to perform the exercise. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, business administration or related field and two years of experience involving the design, planning and coordination of construction projects; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    This position requires statewide travel.
    This position has a 25% travel requirement.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D or AutoCAD Architecture, Version 2007 or newer.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.

1) Please provide your experience in detail as it relates to projects you have personally worked on. Please include your experience with any or all of the following; Project planning/design/development, budget/cost estimating, scheduling, building codes, permitting, construction administration & inspection, final inspections, and punch list development.
2) Please provide your experience in detail with any or all of the following: Architectural design, structural engineering, plumbing, HVAC, electrical engineering, surveying, site design, landscape architecture, and master planning.
3) Please describe in detail, your knowledge of State Purchasing rules, regulations and policies.
4) Please describe your experience using ESRI products such as ArcGIS and ArcMap.
