The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Engineering Drafter's develop preliminary and final working drawings from engineering sketches and design notes or from verbal direction received from design engineers, utilizing computer aided drafting design (CAD) software and accepted drafting techniques to create plans used by engineers and contractors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within the Engineering Division at Headquarters in Carson City. Incumbent participates in the CAD development of contract plans for highway structural design projects, primarily bridges.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of experience preparing plans for an engineering, architect, or similar organization; OR two years of experience as an Engineering Drafter II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
Completion of a two-year program in CAD, drafting technology, engineering graphics, drafting or equivalent course work may be substituted for work experience up to a maximum of one year.
