The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Laundry Workers wash, dry, fold or press linens and clothing items in an institutional setting; pick up laundry at assigned locations and designated bin areas; collect and remove soiled clothing and linen; and sort items by type, color, and material.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently and may provide work dirction and training to others. The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) has a position for a Laundry Worker 2 at SUMMIT VIEW YOUTH CENTER (SVYC), a 48-bed secure facility for male youth age 14 to 18 located in North Las Vegas, NV. SVYC's goal is to promote positive self-growth, create change in behavior, attitudes, values and ways of thinking.
Under general supervision, incumbent supervises student workers and coordinates the activities of staff in washing, drying, folding and pressing clothing and linen on a daily basis; orders and maintains accurate linen and supply inventory; and inspects work areas and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
This is a full time position 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours per week. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Two years of experience in the operation of a variety of laundry equipment related to the assignment; OR one year of experience as a Laundry Worker I in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
Experience in either commercial or residential laundry equipment is required and will be specified at the time of recruitment.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
