Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. This opening is for an Administrative Assistant 4 within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) unit, in Carson City NV.
This position collaboratively manages unit activities and works with various programs within the unit and will be responsible for maintaining programmatic forms; working with and entering data into the Interchange system, as well as various databases and spreadsheets; working with protected health information found in various systems such as Interchange, EVS, SAMS and NOMADS; communicating with Nevada Medicaid Providers, sister agencies or contracted physicians, to provide or request information and/or documentation needed; assisting with scheduling and coordinating meetings and travel needs, composing and/or distributing documents and materials including, but not limited to correspondence, memorandums, charts, and other items in support of the operation of the various Medicaid programs within the unit; and other duties as assigned.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
