The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is with the Department of Education's Division of Educator Effectiveness and Family Engagement in Las Vegas. Under general supervision, the incumbent will oversee and monitor several fiscal programs administered by the Department. These include the Teach Nevada Scholarship program, the Teacher Incentives program, the School Supply Reimbursement Account, the Teacher Loan Forgiveness program, and the Nevada Institute on Teaching and Educator Preparation. The incumbent will establish funding application processes and timelines, perform regular fiscal reconciliations of assigned programs, ensure grantee compliance with program requirements, and conduct financial and statistical studies to inform future decision making. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
