Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
The Records, Communications, and Compliance Division (RCCD) currently has two Departmental promotional opportunities for Management Analyst IIIs in Carson City. One position is responsible for managing and directing the daily operational activities of the new statewide Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence (SAFE) Kit Tracking and Reporting Program and the Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) Compliance Unit which includes the NCJIS Systems Agency function, the Civil Name Check Program, the Uniform Crime Reporting Program, the Criminal Audit Program and the Civil Audit Program. The other position is responsible for managing and directing the daily operations of the Brady Point of Contact Firearms Program and the Sex Offender Registry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; analyzing workload volume, statistical and informational reports to spot trends and streamline business processes for improved efficiency; participating in system requirements gathering and design for improvements to the Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) and the various program processes; conferring with users, internal Business Process Analysts, EITS personnel, and outside vendors regarding new or enhanced access requirements resulting from regulatory and statutory action to include developing detailed comprehensive requests and communicating business needs;
developing scopes of work for contracts relating to the various programs; evaluating bids submitted and determine the successful bidder according to established State Purchasing laws and department policy; coordinating, implementing, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies regarding the use, storage, dissemination and destruction of criminal history records and criminal history data collection; drafting, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures for each program area; draft and conduct presentations and provide testimony related to each program area to various entities; review and provide program impact statements for legislation at the federal and state level; applying for and managing grants; ensuring programs are properly budgeted, staffed, and equipped; professional interaction with internal and external entities; and professional representation at various meetings which could require travel via airplane or vehicle. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 7 years of experience of which 2 years were at the paraprofessional level and 5 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
