Casework Management Specialists within the Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Child & Family Services, provide case management services for children and their families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar setting.
Incumbents perform some of the duties described in the series concept and continue to receive training in performing the duties outlined in the series concept. The DIVISION OF CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES Foster Care Licensing Specialist position conducts thorough assessments of potential foster/adoptive parents for foster care licensure in the rural areas of Nevada, utilizing a home study model. The Foster Care Licensing Specialist ensures that applicants and licensee(s) are in compliance with policy, State statutes and regulations; conducts ongoing recruitment throughout the rural areas of Nevada for potential foster/adoptive families; provides foster/adoptive parents with pre-service and advanced training and participates and engages in community functions; conducts annual home visits for re-licensing and completes a re-licensing home study annually; delivers strength-based family centered case management services to families to promote safety for the children and preservation of the foster family placements; and maintains case records, case documentation, agency, special and monthly reports, forms and other pertinent paperwork. This is a full-time position located in the Pahrump office. Positions include a variable work agreement that will be scheduled to work hours and days different than 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours per week.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology or closely related social/human services related field and one year of professional experience providing case management services to clients in a health and/or human services program; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above. |

Positions require a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
