Social Services Managers plan, organize, direct and manage the activities, staff and functions necessary to provide social services in an assigned region or district office and its satellites.
Social Services Managers provide child welfare services in an assigned region or district office to support positive outcomes for children and families involved with the child welfare system. This position will manage Rural Region 2, the Carson District Office.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; work collaboratively to develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. Incumbent ensures quality services to abused and neglected children are delivered in these communities, including Child Protective Services, Substitute Care Services and training to community partners while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, health or social science, public administration or related field and three years of supervisory experience in the implementation of social services programs; directing the operation of a program unit; coordinating program activities with officials and representatives of other agencies; interpretation and application of complex federal regulations; and writing program policies, procedures, or reports; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Some positions require professional licensure or certification in a social or medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada, which will be identified at the time of recruitment. Incumbents must maintain professional licensure or certification in their specialty for
continuing employment. |

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
