Insurance Examiners perform professional work in verification and analysis of the financial condition/solvency
and market conduct examination of providers of insurance and related products in the State.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Department of Business & Industry's Division of Insurance, Corporate & Financial Affairs section (C&F) is recruiting for an Insurance Examiner 1 in Carson City. C&F is responsible for company licensing, financial statement analysis, holding company analysis, collateral management, financial examinations, receivership processes, strategic planning, new product/program implementation, and maintenance of corporate records pertaining to insurers. This position reports to the Assistant Chief Insurance Examiner in charge of the analysis unit who performs financial analysis of domestic insurers and their holding companies. The Insurance Examiner I is primarily responsible for in-depth and challenging analysis of the assigned domestic insurers in accordance with C&F policies and procedures and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) risk-focused financial analysis handbook and accreditation standards.
This position may or may not be supervisory in nature, depending on the needs of the unit. Incumbent may also be called upon to perform some of the more difficult analysis assignments, or to train other analysts. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, business administration, finance or related field, and three years of professional experience in accounting or auditing; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Experience performing regulatory financial examinations and analysis of insurance companies is required. |

| The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
