The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur

Child Care Facilities Surveyors conduct independent surveys of child care facilities, child welfare emergency shelters, educational facilities, and facilities serving emotionally disturbed children to determine compliance with State licensing regulations (NRS 432A) and to make licensure recommendations.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) currently has two vacancies for a Child Care Facilities Surveyor in Las Vegas and Carson City. The incumbent will complete timely inspections and complaint investigations per NAC and NRS 432A; ensure and enforce facility compliance; assist and participate in community comprehension of the Licensing process; participate in multi-disciplinary agency collaborations as needed; complete reports timely and accuratelu; attend meetings and trainings as required; and assist in other work related projects as directed by the Bureau Chief, Program Manager and Supervisor. The position requires travel therefore a valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook. The incumbent must be able to communicate effectivity verbally and in writing and maintain relationships with collaborating agencies, staff and providers.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood development, education, social work, or closely related field and one year of professional experience providing developmental or educational services to children in an early childhood program which must have included program administration responsibilities; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood development, education, social work, or closely related field and one year of professional experience evaluating child development or early childhood education programs; OR one year of experience as a Child Care Facilities Surveyor Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
