JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
This position is underfilling a Budget Analyst 1 position in Fiscal Services Section. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. The incumbent is primarily responsible for four executive budget accounts and one non-executive budget account. This position will prepare, implement, and monitor these budgets including the development of expenditure projections, drafting narrative justification of programs, and detailed biennial spending plans to ensure compliance with budgetary directives, policies, federal and state regulations and limitations. This position will also prepare agency small grant draws and work with federally funded accounts. This position will work with the Nevada Executive Budget System as well as other state systems. The position interfaces with Department leadership, Administrative Services Officers, Department of Administration staff and other divisional employees requiring a candidate to have strong interpersonal skills. The incumbent must be advanced in Microsoft Excel. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance or similar discipline directly related to fiscal or business management; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained.

Incumbents may progress to the entry level in the professional series upon meeting the minimum qualifications and with the approval of the appointing authority.
