The Position
Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements.
Under limited supervision, incumbents perform the full range of journey level duties described in the series concept. Incumbents may serve as a leadworker as assigned.
This Business Process Analyst 2 position is within Student Data Services in the Department of Education, 700 E 5th St Carson City, NV 89701. The incumbent is a technical analyst that works closely with local school districts and charter schools to support and enhance the Infinite Campus statewide student information system and internal Department applications. The position provides direct technical assistance to all public school districts and charter schools through the Department's support desk; gathers system requirements for enhancement or customization; works closely with vendor to manage projects; and develops test plans and system user documentation. This position manages work items prioritized by the Department to enhance or customize internal systems for the purpose of collecting and reporting data required by the State, Federal government or other educational stakeholders. A criminal history check will be required of the selected applicant. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and two years of professional experience in a related program area analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included one year of experience applying recognized data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR one year of experience as a Business Process Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
Additional Position Criteria
    Infinite Campus Student Information System experience is required.
    Help Desk and/or client support team experience is required.
