Prison Milker milks cows, cleans milking and milk handling equipment, oversees and instructs inmates; and does related work as required at a prison dairy.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) has a vacancy in Carson City for a Prison Milker. The incumbent is responsible for milking cows in the Prison farm; cleaning equipment; maintaining the health of cows, and general farm related chores. Knowledge of herd health and location cycle is imperative. Record keeping is required.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
One year of experience milking cows on a milk production line using mechanized milking equipment.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
