Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is currently recruiting for Licensed Psychologist 1 positions. Incumbents will provide crisis intervention, help develop safety plan recommendations for patients, and conduct patient interviews. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Some of the valuable services we provide include Psychiatric Emergency Services, Inpatient Services, Mobile Crisis, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, and Consumer Advocacy and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. SNAMHS is accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). At SNAMHS, psychologists are members of interdisciplinary treatment teams along with psychiatry, social services, nursing, and caseworkers. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and/or competency in multiculturalism and human diversity standards of practice. Licensed Psychologists may provide clinical supervision for trainees at all levels and serve on committees for SNAMHS. Licensed Psychologists may be involved in training doctoral interns placed at SNAMHS through the Nevada Psychology Internship Consortium (NV-PIC), an American Psychological Association accredited internship training program. Licensed Psychologists must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of employment. Work responsibilities are under the direction of the Licensed Psychologist 2 for SNAMHS.
Psychologists are active members of interdisciplinary treatment teams along with psychiatry, social services, nursing, and caseworkers. Incumbents will formulate individualized behavioral plans and token economy programs, conduct psychological assessments, conduct risk assessments, assist in crisis intervention, and provide group and individual psychotherapy.
All incumbents will work an innovative variable schedule and are exempt from overtime. As a condition for continued employment, incumbents must complete and maintain all position and agency required trainings and certifications, including respirator fit testing and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training, which the agency provides. Incumbents must possess and maintain a current Nevada Driver's License. Psychologists ensure compliance with CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations, and SNAMHS policies. One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. |

Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. |
