The Position
Health Resource Analysts assist in the development, maintenance, implementation, and revision of State health care policies and programs.
This is a Health Resource Analyst 2 position, serving as the Evaluator for the Cancer Control Unit within the Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion (CDPHP) Section in the Bureau of Child, Family, and Community Wellness, Division of Public and Behavioral Health located in Carson City, Nevada. This position will collect, report, and maintain colorectal, cervical, and breast cancer health statistics; provide cancer screening and surveillance; provide data source investigation, and prepare reports that define the burden of colorectal, cervical, and breast cancers in Nevada. The position will lead and conduct the CDC-required evaluation activities for both the Women's Health Connection and Colorectal Cancer Control grants. The position will also work in conjunction with the Nevada Comprehensive Cancer Control program to improve statewide reporting for colorectal, cervical, and breast cancer screening and diagnostic services. The candidate should possess skills in querying data, organizing and reporting data in a meaningful way, and utilizing data for evaluations purposes. Experience with Access and SQL (sequel) is preferred.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree in the health sciences, public administration, social sciences or closely related field and two years of experience in the health/social sciences or related field which involved analysis of health data, identification of health care needs, and the development of health care reports, policies and programs; OR two years of experience as a Health Resource Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
