Positions in this series provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour/7-day a week treatment home setting.
Incumbents supervise and evaluate the performance of lower level professionals and support staff, schedule and assign work, and provide training and coaching. The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is seeking applicants with a passion to make a difference in the lives of Nevada's Children! The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting Treatment Home Supervisor to be located in Sparks, NV. This position provides care, training and treatment to adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24 hour/7 day a week residential setting at the Adolescent Treatment Center, ATC. Youth served by ATC are designated as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and exhibit significant behavioral challenges including physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, challenges to authority figures, school problems (academic and behavioral), peer and social difficulties, and family issues.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with youth and adolescents teaching basic living and social skills and will supervise the daily operations of a residential program, create a schedule and ensure adequate staff to client coverage.
The incumbent will train and supervise staff members to ensure compliance with treatment model implementation as well as help to develop program protocols and policies and will work as a team with other professionals and parents to help develop youth goals and programs. The incumbent will facilitate groups that will focus on aggression replacement training, problem solving, and empowerment skills and is responsible for completing the admission paperwork, writing progress notes, and organizing team meetings.
In addition, ATC is a licensed facility which requires all of its employees to be cleared through the Department of Family Service's Licensing Department.
This is a full time position that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. This position may be required to work evening and/or weekend hours. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field and two years of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the bachelor's degree level. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. |

Working on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
