The Position
Education Programs Professionals assist and foster the growth of K-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Under the direction of the Office of Inclusive Education at the Nevada Department of Education, this position (located in Carson City) provides leadership to support effective school and districtwide behavior intervention and strategies. As part of this oversight, the position provides professional development and technical assistance for educators, administrators, family members, students, policy makers, and others regarding educational practices regarding behavioral strategies related to students who are identified with disabilities ages 3-21. The Department is especially interested in candidates with expertise or experience in the skills necessary to assist districts, schools, and related professionals with behavior intervention and management strategies at the systems and student level. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.
Special Notes
    Positions require program-specific education and/or experience which will be identified by the agency at the time of recruitment.
    This position requires a pre-employment background investigation as a condition of employment.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    Applicants must hold a Nevada license as a School Psychologist, School Counselor or be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
