APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $45,142.56 to  $66,628.08  PAY GRADE: 32
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Right-of-Way Agents appraise, acquire, relocate, clear, and manage real property for the State and, as requested, its political subdivisions.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
This position is located in the Right-of-Way Division, Las Vegas. Under general supervision, incumbent will perform journey level duties in the Utility Section. Responsibilities include the coordination of utilities for relocation and adjustment of facilities in conflict with Department projects. Provide oversight, monitor, coordinate and act as the liaison with utility companies, local public entities, State agencies, railroad companies, and the Public Utility Commission; perform research of permits and plans to identify the type and location of utility facilities, verification of compensable interest, prepare private contracts for Subsurface-Utility Engineering (SUE) and other work; draft agreements, review utility adjustment cost estimates to ensure compliance with Federal and State statutes, regulations and the Nevada Department of Transportation Right-of-Way Manual. THIS POSITION MAY BE USED TO UNDERFILL A RIGHT-OF-WAY AGENT 2 POSITION. SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENT MAY PROGRESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL AFTER MEETING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE, AND APPROVAL OF THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, real estate, mathematics or related field and one year of professional or technical experience in real property appraisal, planning and zoning, escrow and title, real estate, property management or similar experience which included data analysis, preparation of reports, researching information, and frequent communication with others; OR two years of experience as an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service relevant to right-of-way activities; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience reading and interpreting civil design/construction plans.
    This position requires 25% travel time.
