Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position located within Aging & Disability Services Division's Community Based Care (CBC) program, within the Department of Health and Human Services, in Las Vegas, NV, and is underfilling a Social Worker 2. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
Positions assigned to the CBC ensure a coordinated support system to meet the needs of at-risk elderly and disabled persons by providing case management and essential services to recipients of CBC programs statewide to facilitate community integration and avoid institutionalization. Responsibilities include case management, assessment, eligibility determination, development, implementation and oversight of the plan of care, home visits and documentation utilizing a web based, case management software system.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment. |
