Budget Analysts prepare and implement budgets including the development of expenditure projections, narrative justification of programs, and detailed biennial spending plans; review and analyze budget requests and adjustments; and ensure compliance with budgetary directives, policies, regulations and limitations.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

This opening is for a Budget Analyst I within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) - Budget Unit in Carson City. Responsibilities include budget implementation during budget development, compile caseload data from DWSS and apply financial information to determine current and future Cost Per Eligible (CPE), analyze weekly cash forecasting for sufficient authority in medical categories for DHCFP for three special use budget accounts.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, economics, or closely related field and two years of professional budgeting, economic or management analysis and projection, accounting, staff analyst, or auditing experience which included the identification of organizational problems and solutions, making recommendations regarding solutions and writing reports; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
