The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located within the Department of Health and Human Services, Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) - Human Resources in Carson City, NV. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and provides a positive working environment. The mission of ADSD is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. This part-time position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services - Human Resource Section, located in Carson City, NV. Aging and Disability Services (ADSD) provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, and friendly co-workers, and is a great place to work.
This permanent, part-time position will oversee all temporary staffing requisitions for ADSD and process new, updated, or cancellation of temporary contracts accordingly. The incumbent will work closely with coworkers, agency supervisors and managers, and local temporary employment agencies. Other human resource related duties will be assigned when time allows to include: ESMT processing, submittal of staffing requisitions, evaluation review, and other projects as assigned. This position is budgeted for 20 hours and 24 minutes per week, but the agency had funding and prefers a 32 hour per week schedule with flexibility for additional hours. The agency is flexible with the incumbent's schedule relating to days and times worked. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; OR one year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
