Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Under the general direction of the Administrative Officers (ASOs), this Management Analyst 3 (MA 3) position will serve as the process improvement lead and coordinator of complex business needs for the Administrative Services Division of the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), which includes the following Sections: Agreement Services, Contract Services, Buildings and Grounds, Record Management, and Over-Dimensional Vehicle Permits. The incumbent will also serve as the liaison between NDOT Divisions and the Information Technology Division to lead the development and implementation of software solutions, systems, business processes and procedures department-wide. The incumbent will ensure best practices are replicated throughout NDOT. The MA 3 will also assist the ASOs in the analysis and preparation of budget and legislative data and reports, as well as, lead a unit responsible for ensuring consistency in negotiations within NDOT's many divisions and broad range of agreement types.
Incumbent functions as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. The incumbent will ensure: personnel issues are addressed in a timely manner and staff coverage is maintained; employee evaluations are completed; and disciplinary actions are initiated, if needed. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |

Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 7 years of experience of which 2 years were at the paraprofessional level and 5 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.

This position requires up to 25% travel. |

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |

Experience with planning, implementing, and maintaining information systems on an agency-wide basis is required. |

Experience with performing feasibility studies/cost benefit analysis for information systems. |
