The Position
Education Programs Professionals assist and foster the growth of K-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
The Department of Education (NDE) is recruiting for an Education Programs Professional located in Carson City or Las Vegas. The position location will be determined based upon the applicant selected. The incumbent will provide leadership, information, technical assistance, and consultative services to develop, execute, and report NDE policies concerning K-12 English Language Arts (ELA) standards, curriculum supports, assessments, and professional development; provides services such as standards and instructional support; acts as NDE representative or liaison to national/state organizations, task forces, committees and/or panels dealing with ELA information, trends, data, and implementation; and provides leadership and content expertise for the State's instructional materials adoption committee, grant reviews, and school improvement initiatives. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.
Special Requirements
    Positions may be required to work on evenings and weekends.
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience as a State of Nevada licensed K-12 English Language Arts (ELA) classroom teacher is required.
