The Position
DMV Services Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs including licensing drivers; issuing identification cards; registering and titling vehicles; issuing occupational business licenses; and processing reinstatements.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. This position will be responsible for overseeing a team of DMV Services Technicians within the Compliance Enforcement Division/Occupational and Business Licensing unit. DMV Service Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. Under the general direction of the Occupational and Business Licensing DMV Services Manager 1, the DMV Services Supervisor coordinates and provides services associated with registering and licensing of businesses and individuals within the dealers, garages, auto body shops, salvage pools, wreckers, and emission control industry. In addition, Supervisors are responsible for the selection, training, and evaluation of the performance of assigned personnel. They facilitate and oversee office activities, assess training needs and provide training opportunities as appropriate. Incumbents are responsible for retrieval and deciphering information from National Crime Information Center (NCIC) / Nevada Criminal Justice Information Center (NCJIS) systems pertaining to registration, title, driver's license and criminal history information. Ensures compliance with internal security, confidentiality and audits.
The DMV Services Supervisor will be located at the Sahara DMV office located at 2621 E Sahara Avenue Las Vegas NV 89104. This position requires up to 25% travel to the W Flamingo and Henderson DMV offices. The Department of Motor Vehicles is required to comply with NRS 239B.010.1.b which allows an agency to conduct a Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) fingerprint clearance check. Any convictions identified in NRS 205 disqualifies any employee or vendor employee from obtaining access to the DMV Computer System. Identified are Posting or displaying the Social Security Number of another person, Unlawful acts regarding Personal Identifying Information (PII), Unlawful acts regarding computers and information services, Use of Payment Cards, re-encoders and scanning devices to defraud, Unlawful acts regarding credit cards and debit cards. Convictions in the following are also disqualifying: Fraud, Theft, Embezzlement, Forgery, Counterfeiting, Falsely impersonating another. 49 CFR 1572.103 provides that an agency involved in the issuance of Real ID Driver's Licenses and Identification Cards shall not knowingly employ a person if they have been convicted of any of the felonies listed under this regulation, which include Espionage, Sedition, Treason, Terrorism, Transportation Security Incident, Improper Transportation of a Hazardous Material, Unlawful Possession of Explosives, Murder, Making any Threat Concerning a Lethal Device, or Racketeering. Additional Real ID criteria provides that the DMV shall not employ a person if they have been convicted of a felony within 7 years of their application or if an applicant was released from incarceration for one of these crimes within five years of their application including Unlawful Firearm Violations, Extortion, Fraud, Bribery, Smuggling, Immigration Violations, Distribution of Controlled Substances, Arson, Kidnapping, Rape or Sexual Abuse, Assault With Intent to Kill, Robbery or Fraudulent Seaport Entry.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of varied and increasingly responsible experience related to registration/titling of motor vehicles or licensing motor vehicle operators, one year of which was equivalent to a DMV Services Technician IV; OR two years of experience equivalent to a DMV Services Technician III.
Special Notes
    In accordance with NRS 293.5045, the Department of Motor Vehicles, as a voter registration agency, shall not knowingly employ an individual in this class series who has been convicted of a felony involving theft and/or fraud.
    The Department of Motor Vehicles is required to comply with 49 CFR 1572.103 which provides that an agency involved in the issuance of Real ID Driver's Licenses shall not knowingly employ a person if they have been convicted of any of the felonies listed under this regulation.
    In accordance with 49 CFR 384.228, the Department of Motor Vehicles is required to conduct a national background check on any employee that administers Commercial Driver License (CDL) knowledge and/or skills testing, and the DMV shall not knowingly employ such a person if they have been convicted of a felony in the last 10 years or have been convicted of any fraudulent activities.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
The Examination
DMV SERVICES SUPERVISOR 1 - CED - (11.422) Training and Experience Exam
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. Your score will be based on the information provided in your application and your responses to the questions asked below. If there are several parts to a question, answer each part separately. Along with each answer, identify the position(s) and/or training (as described in your application) where you gained the background asked for in the question. Absence of experience/training asked for in a question is not necessarily disqualifying. Failure to answer the questions will result in a score based solely on the application.
