The School/Community Nutrition Program Coordinator plans, coordinates, monitors and performs compliance reviews of school and/or community nutrition program sponsors to ensure compliance with both State and federal program requirements.
Incumbents perform the full range of duties outlined in the series concept and may act as a lead-worker over School/Community Nutrition Program Coordinator I positions, and/or other professional, technical and administrative staff, to include work assignment, work review and training. This is the journey level in the series.
The Department of Agriculture is recruiting for a School/Community Nutrition Program Coordinator 2 position in their Las Vegas office. Under the direction of the School Nutrition Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing off-site and on-site program reviews of primarily school nutrition program sponsors, agencies, and operators. As a lead for program reviews, the position is responsible for program implementation, which includes reviewing menus and production records; preparing reports and other documents; reviewing and evaluating corrective action plans; analyzing program data; and monitoring progress to ensure compliance with both State and various USDA Child Nutrition program requirements. In addition, this position provides guidance and technical assistance as required; create, develop and present training to staff, sponsors and stakeholders; interpret and explain federal and state regulations; update program manuals and forms; and develop materials such as tracking spreadsheets and reports. Overnight and at least 25% travel is a requirement of this position. The preferred candidate for this position will have experience performing program evaluations, quality assurance, and compliance reviews of school or community nutrition services and programs. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, nutrition, dietetics, social services or closely related field; and one year of professional experience performing program evaluations for the purpose of determining program compliance with State and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; interpreting laws and regulations; and preparing detailed reports documenting findings and/or required corrective action; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
