The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION

in this geographical location.
Consumer Services Assistants assist professional staff by performing advocacy and service improvement activities on behalf of clients in mental health service agencies.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This part time position is located with Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS), Dini-Townsend Hospital in Sparks, NV. Consumer Services Assistants (CSA) are adults with a mental illness who are employed to provide advocacy, peer support, and modeling of recovery-oriented behaviors for other consumers at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health (NNAMHS). CSA's provide several supportive services at Dini-Townsend Hospital by conversing with consumers on the Units, assisting with consumer activities, and co-facilitating support and life skills-oriented groups. CSA's act as liaison among staff, community and consumers; model positive behaviors; and provide powerful affirmation that recovery is possible. Currently NNAMHS is seeking a Consumer Services Assistant who would be assigned a variety of duties in Dini-Townsend Hospital. The best candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to share their own recovery success with Dini-Townsend Hospital consumers. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Ability to read and write standard business correspondence and one year of mental health consumer advocacy experience, six months of which included working for a mental health service delivery system which included monitoring and reporting to professional staff on client progress, providing client perspective to service providers, and providing peer support such as assisting clients to present complaints and resolve problems, complete forms, and adjust to changes in levels of care; OR six months experience as a Consumer Services Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
