JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Child Care Facilities Surveyors conduct independent surveys of child care facilities, child welfare emergency shelters, educational facilities, and facilities serving emotionally disturbed children to determine compliance with State licensing regulations (NRS 432A) and to make licensure recommendations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Maintain an approved full time work schedule, complete timely inspections per NAC and NRS 432A, complete complaint investigations Per NAC and NRS 432A, ensure and enforce facility compliance with NAC and NRS 432A. Assist and participate in community comprehension of the licensing process, participate in multi-disciplinary agency collaborations as needed. Use computer programs: word, excel and outlook proficiently, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, maintain relationships with collaborating agencies, staff and providers. Complete reports timely and accurately, attend meetings and trainings as required, travel as needed per position, assist in other work related projects as directed by the Bureau Chief, Program Manager and Supervisor. Must maintain a valid driver's license.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood development, education, social work, or closely related field and one year of professional experience providing developmental or educational services to children in an early childhood program which must have included program administration responsibilities; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood development, education, social work, or closely related field and one year of professional experience evaluating child development or early childhood education programs; OR one year of experience as a Child Care Facilities Surveyor Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
