The Position
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This is a full-time position located in Carson City underfilling a Social Worker 3. Social Worker positions are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families to include but not limited to: conduct thorough assessments of families at SAFE Model specific times throughout the life of the case; assess/manage for on-going safety threats throughout the life of the case; deliver strength-based family centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children. Ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met; ensure Case Plans are developed and reviewed in accordance with policy and practice guidelines; and ensure documentation of assessments, CFT's, monthly caseworker visits, court reports, social summaries, diligent search efforts, TPR packets and other pertinent paperwork. Positions include a variable work agreement that will be scheduled to work hours and days different than 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday as needed, after hours on-call weekdays and weekends. Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week. The State of Nevada and Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) offers an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance, participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), accrual of 15 days of annual and 15 days of sick leave, 11 paid holidays and no city, county, state or social security tax!

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work.
Special Requirements
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required by the Division of Child and Family Services.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
