Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. This Maintenance Repair Worker III position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Health and Human Services at the Desert Regional Center (DRC) in Las Vegas, NV. ADSD provides a collegial atmosphere of innovative thinking and teamwork. The mission of the ADSD is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
The Maintenance Repair Worker III will perform general maintenance, repair, and construction work in and around homes, equipment, furnishings, grounds, and vehicles to assure a safe and pleasant environment that will support individuals in achieving the following outcomes: IDENTITY, AUTONOMY, AFFILIATION, ATTAINMENT, PERSONAL SAFETY, PERSONAL RIGHTS and PERSONAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS. Assuring the environment is safe and maintained helps individuals make choices as to their daily lives, to have access and use of their environment to live and participate in the community, to have a choice of services, have personal safety, and to have the best possible health. This position is part of a maintenance team. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player.
Maintenance crew rotates on call services. Must be available nights and weekends on rotational basis.
Specific duties may include performing preventative maintenance on Agency equipment such as appliances, furnaces, cooling compressors and vehicles. Other facility duties may include general maintenance and construction, painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and cooling, furniture repair, roof repair, and other general duties. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Two years of experience performing semi-skilled work in a relevant building and/or mechanical trade; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

This position requires the incumbent to work weekends and holidays. |
|
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
A valid Class C Nevada driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

Must be able to carry up to 50lbs. |
