Developmental Specialists provide individual and group clinical, developmental and support services for individuals of all ages who have, or who may be at risk for, developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions, and social, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
This recruitment is for Developmental Specialist 3 vacancies located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Health and Human Services at Desert Regional Center (DRC) in Las Vegas. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing case management services of 45-55 individuals with intellectual disabilities and related conditions such as Autism, Seizure Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, etc. who live at home with their families or who are living in a supported living arrangement in the community. Incumbent must possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to acquire the skills to perform work independently with some additional training.
Incumbent will perform a broad range of duties and developing, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of individual treatment activities to facilitate achievement of identified goals for the specific developmental and behavioral management of each individual in the least restrictive environment possible. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, special education, human growth and development, psychology, counseling, social work or a closely related field and two years of professional experience providing developmental, special education, intervention or treatment-oriented services for individuals who have or may be at risk for developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions; OR one year of experience as a Developmental Specialist II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education at or above a bachelor's degree and experience as described above. |
