JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position will be located at the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation in the Carson City IT office. The incumbent will configure and install client hardware and software including operating systems, application software, network services and/or standalone systems as needed. This includes the use of imaging software and scripts to automate various processes as much as possible. The position is responsible for correctly and accurately altering hardware or software configurations by adding or removing components as needed. This duty may include some cabling. The incumbent will work in remote locations statewide without immediate supervision and should demonstrate sound judgment, decision making and trouble shooting skills. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician IV in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
This position is subject to call-out or call-back.
Statewide travel is required.
Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
