Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Electricians respond to repair orders; diagnose problems using proper tools and test equipment; estimate cost of jobs by getting quotes and submitting PO request; make repairs; and track time. The incumbent will implement a preventative maintenance schedule and perform the maintenance, including routine inspections, cleaning and servicing, and making adjustments and repairs to prolong the life of the equipment, systems and structures. The incumbent will troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair circuit breakers and transformers, emergency generators, high voltage primary power lines, heating, ventilation and AC systems, fire alarm systems, electric motors and lighting maintenance. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level electrician experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for stand-by emergency status.

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Additional Position Criteria
Experience working with 120, 208, 270, and 440 power is required.
