JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
This position is located within the Public and Behavioral Health (PBH) Division's Office of Informatics and Technology (OIT) in Carson City. This position maintains knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used in the installation, maintenance and support of the agency desktop environment; Help Desk response for support and maintenance of application and system problems to WAN/LAN users; upgrades and installs software and/or hardware on networked desktop systems statewide; and assists in monitoring and management of advanced/specialized agency software and inventory. As a PBH Division employee, incumbents are expected to be available for call-back during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this position or to perform other duties as requested associated with a response role. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of experience utilizing the fundamentals of typical computer systems, operating systems, applications, and peripherals, one year of which must have included IT work experience in a user support role; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
