The Position
Professional Engineer Administrators are responsible for management of an assigned district, function or division in the Department of Transportation.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located within the Project Management Division, Carson City. Incumbent will provide supervision, direction and leadership to the senior project managers; will assist the Chief of Project Management in development and implementation of the Division's program and project delivery goals; development of Division's policies, standards and guidelines; implementation of process improvements in support of project delivery and communication and coordination with Federal, State and local agencies. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and four years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity; OR one year of experience as a Manager II, P.E. in Nevada State service; OR two years experience as a Manager I, P.E. or Supervisor IV, P.E. in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Any person registered as a Professional Engineer in another state must become registered as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months following the date of appointment and as a continuing condition of employment.
Special Requirements
    Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination
Application Evaluation Exam
The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.

1) Describe your experience and expertise in the following areas: a) development and implementation of construction contracts including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build and Construction Manager at Risk; b) development and execution of Service Provider (engineering consultant) contracts; c) development and execution of agreements between state, local and federal agencies, and; d) Public Private Partnerships.
2) Describe your project management experience with design and construction of transportation projects.
3) Describe your program management experience.
4) Describe your experience with the development of policies, standards and guidelines.
